DR Climbing Walls was formed in
1975 by Don Robinson.
Don Robinson was a lectureer at The
University of Leeds when in 1964 he 'invented the first artificial
climbing wall'. He desinged the iconic Leeds
University Climbing Wall in a corridor of the sports hall.
In 2010 DR Climbing Walls celebrated
its 35th Anniversary, completing over 400 major projects in 15
countries. They still have offices located within sight of
Almscliff, and Don Robinson remains their Chairman and Technical
Director.
